It's not often I cook traditional British food (most of it is pretty boring), but I can never resist a good stew and suet dumplings. You could easily make this vegan by substituting the Quorn mince for a vegan alternative - or just skipping it altogether.
I've been researching soy-free bacon substitutes and have come across a few suggestions for "eggplant bacon". Does anyone have a tried and true recipe for this that doesn't contain soy or msg?
Right now, I am cooking a big pot of vegetarian meatballs, spaghetti and a loaf of Irish soda bread. There was no time for yeasted bread today and, being Irish/Italian (and vegetarian), I happen to think this is a perfect combo, so I thought I'd share it. ( click for recipes )

This came out really well! I have a reputation as a notoriously bad cook, but I'm trying and I'm learning. I still don't really know what I'm doing, but obviously, I can cook yummy things. :) Still nervous about sharing them, though!
I need some help, I would like a rough idea of ratio of ingredients to make nice and firm veg balls or burgers (also tasty :P). I'm on a diet right now so I try to not use oil or nuts too much, also no binders like maizena and the such.
